Possibly getting Jeep Buggy start

My sammi is too nice to cut up and wheel hard so i may make/buy a little toy. Found this on CL cheap. It is titled and parted. Has no axles, drive train or seats. I happen to have a straight axle suburban here for parts. Thinking about using my chevy parts to build a play toy. Keep the sammi for a DD type vehicle. Couldn't find another cheap sammi body with title and this is a jeep so . . . who cares if i trash it anyway with a bunch of chevy parts?

Well that won't happen. Chicken shit emailed back and said after talking with some friends he has decided to raise the price. I don't deal with people that pull that crap. Let him sell it to somebody else. May just haul my crap to scrap metal.

Chop up and shorten the Burb and wheel the piss out of it. Seems to me it would be cheaper and less work. It's a win win!

Yup. Nice thing about it. . . It was one of the founding members of C.O.R.A that pulled it. You know. Christian Off Road Association? It was NOT CORAZUK from here. I'll make that point clear. But rather another member of the same club. Must be the 11th commandment my pastor never taught me.

Thou shall Screw people over on CL if the demand is high. I was going to try and hook up with them for some local rides when i got one done. Think i will pass. I don't ride or deal with people like that.

I am thinking of putting full widths, 4.3, 700r4, np241 (til i get an adapter for my dana20) on my spare sammi frame with one links. I have all that sitting here.

His other deal must have fell thru. I guess he shouldn't have listened to his friend. He has it relisted again. The hood and grill are gone but now he is including a 21 gallon fuel cell. Kind of funny shaped but a fuel cell none the less. My jeeper friend is giving me a hood for use or scrap, and may have a grill.

Should i bite the bullet and get it and bolt my crap on or say screw it? It is a good start at a hell of a toy. Though the cage will need some more work.

Looking at it tonight!

Here is a bad picture i snagged off their website of the jeep in action. This why i am thinking of going ahead with it. I am good at doing half of a project. Usually start and not finish. I think if i get one half started i may finish it. Plus, jeeps are like butt heads on pirate 4x4. Plenty of them and easy to replace. I'll keep my sammi intact until something unspeakable happens to it.

I feel the same way about my TT. I want to wheel it but i dont want to mess it up just because it's not a dime a dozen.I would like to get a drop top and wheel it but funds are short these days

If i get this i have a 1/2 ton straight axle 4x4 suburban for parts and an extra set of 1/2 ton axles. Not 1 tons like everyone likes but i can afford to replace axle front and rear like 4 or 5 times for what a set of 1 tons cost around here. I will use that engine, tranny and everything for a while.

Went and looked at it. The thing is a POS. Even for a trail only rig. The cage needs sand blasted, ground and rewelded. What body is left needs to be pulled, fixed or replaced. Would only leave trash on the trail. And he has stripped it to the point there is very little left.

BUT, it is a jeep so it must be worth at least $500.

Needless to say i passed. I maybe running my 4.3 in my extra sammi frame.

After pricing benders, tubing and other stuff i don't know which way to go. Part of me says jump on it. Throw my spare parts and v8 in it and play. If i want something else, sell it and use the 4.3 and dana 20 with my other tranny and build one. I have a second set of axles, just need new bearings and brakes gone thru from sitting. Any opinions on which way you guys would go.

depends on the condition. tube is expensive and it's not cheap to have something built for you either. just look it over, take lots of pictures and post them up. if you could buy it for $400.00 or so then it can certainly be worked with.

I ended up picking it up. Talked him back down to $430. He included the fuel cell and anti wrap bar with it that wasn't going to be originally. Looking at some parts end of the week. Guy is parting out a jeep or two. Gotta get a new grill. Everything else will stay as is. If it works good i will clean it up a little. Gonna have to wash it and paint it a different color. Can't be running somebody else's rig same color and all. Bring on the tractor paint!
