Samurai gear ratios

All North American SJ 413 - also known as Samurais - sold between 1986 and 1995 had a differential gear ratio of 3.72 to 1.

The transfer case for the same vehicles were

2-high 1.409 to 1
2/4 low 2.268 to 1

Other aftermarket t-case ratios exist. The above are OEM specs.

I believe all Samurai's came with 3.72 gearing in the diff's. The following are Samurai specs:

If I had a 1990's Tracker with stock gear ratios and with 31 inch tires would I need to lower the gear ratios or would I be fine. Also if I did what would be the cheapest way to do it.
