Dont know about the vaccum port on the MC itself. Mine doesnt have one.

And by the way, unless somebody has created a cure all, the later booster WILL NOT work. Trust me, i tried for 3 hours to get the damn thing to work, finally said screw it and was gonna go back to the factory zuk mc, I happened to have an early model booster here and got to looking and found that it was different than the one on my 90. I found this out the HARD way, didnt have anybody to tell me about the diff. of the later model booster difference.

Thats why i always post this, i hate for somebody to go thru lots of trouble for the heck of it.

Don't forget about the mazda 929 MC swap. That's what I'm using and it works great. You can see the info in my build up thread.

I have to agree with Billy. The Mazda 929 looks like a sweet deal. You dont have to bore out any holes, it is a direct bolt up. It also has the wire for the fluid level. Most importantly it comes off a vehicle with 4 wheel disc brakes.

I have the firebird MC and dont have a complaint at all, but for simplicity the mazda looks like a easy install.

The difference between the swaps (Mazda 929 vs FireChicken) is the price. If you want to go the rebuilt route (not junkyard), its $30 shipped to your door for the Firebird, but $160 for the Mazda. The difference in price is enough to buy the tools to bore the Firebird, run all new brakelines in your rig AND buy a Line Locker from Summit/Jegs to give you an ebrake (thats what I did actually ;).
I obviously haven't tried out the new MC yet as it's being shipped to me but it doesn't sound hard to hook up. Drill out the holes, screw it on, either cut the lines and put new ends on it or get adapters from Napa. I think I'm going to try and setup a new adjustable proportioning valve at the same time too.

I guess that makes sense. However, the junk yard MC I got was in great shape and I was able to take some of the brakes line and fittings as well. But to each his own...

Hey, not trying to bash your idea, it looks like an easier swap, and at a junkyard its the same price ;) I'm sure yours works the same if not better because it's off of a newer and high performance sports car.
I just wanted to get something rebuilt to make sure that my inability to determine a working unit from a junkyard wouldn't cause my breaks to go out on the freeway ... I don't think that would be very fun.

If I got one from the junkyard i would find one with the fluid still in it. Atleast the seals are not dried out.

I run the firebird MC but if I seen this swap before I did the firebird, I probably would look for a decent shape Mazda from the junkyard. I think the reason I like it so much is the level warning light same as the sami...

If youre running 4 wheel disks with chevy rear stuff on a yota axle you will need a proportioning valve. I tried without one and it jus locked the rears down as soon as i touched the brakes. That was with the firebird m/c. Put on a prop. valve, dialed it in and i couldnt ask for better brakes. Ive got a manual (not electric) line lock, and it works great as a e brake.

I did not have to do anything to my brakes with the mazda MC. I added electric lines locks though.

Mine will lock up on dirt or gravel (and probably wet pavement) but I have to smash it real hard. I use the stock proportional valve. The line lock is not legal in Texas for a e-brake. The law states that the e-brake has to be a mechanical devise other that hydrolic.

I know this thread is old but I have been studying everything available. Are the stock lines good enough for half ton Chevy stuff?

Yes, I have been running this set up for a long time now without issue.

My biggest concern is that the stock Samurai lines won't be able to flow enough volume to supply the brakes I am running. But since Joe said his is working well then I will run my stockers. I upgraded the brakes on my wife's Yukon to 14" SSBC kit front and rear with new calipers and it works great. Me not know enough to immediately say one way or the other I wanted to defer to people that knew more.

I just finished up my swap But I had to lengthen the plunger for mine to get close to the firebird MC. I actually put longer bolt in it. Is the 91 brakes MC different? I had about 4 -5 inches of nothing in the pedal before it hit something. But now it is solid as a rock. Can't try it looking for PS part before I try it out.
