Options? No Smog Carb Swap?

My Sammy will no longer have SMOG test issues to deal with.
Pretty much a strictly off road rig.
So what have you guys found to be the ideal Carb swap for a stock '87 Sammy engine?
@ this point the mods have all be in gears & etc.

If the rest of the Sammy is stock, then I suggest a Himshi Carb, also from ZOR, he has them just not on his site. Talk to MY about it. For a stock motor there isn't anything better, I put one on a customers stocker and it flat woke up.

That might be the actual best option for off roading?
Angels & all that stuff.
But probably sorta pricey?

Just the carb swap made a noticeable difference?

A bit pricey, so maybe added to my wish list?

Ive read on forums not sure here or elsewhere of a toyota carb off a 1200ccfrom the 70s (not sure of the model) around 70 71 or 1972 several people said they ran well and that they found them on ebay. very easy to install with no fabrication I got smog check here so I cant use it. perhaps someone can steer you toward more info

EFI is the obvious hands down best option, However you did specify carb, so..... my opinion would be:

Myside 1 or 2 is best option as you have options to tune it to match other upgrades and swap to the 44mm if you end up going with major motor mods or even upgrade to a 1.6

Second would be the himshi.

Other options are out there, but if its a truly offroad rig, nothing else will be worth it. save more money and go the myside or efi route. Besides the annoyance of stalling on hills part of any car type carb, your starter will thank you

Easy peasy to install, runs better than stock. Pretty cheap too.

Bought one of these a few weeks ago and started the install... then life got in the way. Complete kitchen and dining room renovation was suddenly the focus of everything worldly. There's a reason I've made it to 51 years of marriage... keep Momma happy and the World turns smoothly.

The Toy 250 I received was different in several ways from the carb used in the various Toy 250 conversions I found on the web.

I'll try to get some photo's uploaded after Christmas.

In the meantime, hoping everyone has a very merry Christmas and a safe and prosperous New Year!

So was mine, no anti-diesel solenoid. It has never run on for me and as I understand it if that does become a problem run 89 octane or higher gas. Other than that it was a snap to install. Also check out Syynergy7 install video on the Toy250. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clIcK2gvOew
