Old Blue turns Chameleon

Old Blue was rescued at a farm in central Texas. All signs indicated he had a hard life. Luck for me, a "come-a-long" would coax him on the trailer for a trip to his new home.

Although a starter and minor wrenching get old blue running, constant white moist smoke indicates problems. Thanks to a fellow zuker, I can secure a known "good condition" engine cheaper than a head gasket and possible head work. I will pull the engine and tranny as a pair, as there are clutch problems too.

After all the wrenching, the engine was swapped, new clutch, pp, tob, electric fuel pump, used headers, used webber, used spoa, shocks, ujoints and brakes were replaced or added. Mechanically, old blue is good to go.

Old blue needed more. He was bumped and bruised, so some paint and TLC seemed like the remedy.

After several hours of preparation, sanding and scraping old blue has officially transitioned.
The final product is getting close. Afew more tweaks, including a DIY bed liner, seats, paint and install hard top, secure/protect wiring and the book will be closed.

Nice job, don't walk to far if you park in the woods, you may not find it.

Glad the top will be sitting on a Zuk with a better paint job than mine.

You need some bigger tires though!

Thanks for the compliments. I think the chameleon turned out pretty well. Unfortunetly, he has a better engine and brakes than my "keeper" Zuk has.

I have had this stencil for several years and cannot recall where I got it, but found the same thing here -
http://www.camoextreme.com/camouflage_stencils.htm

The price has about doubled since I got mine, guess everything has though.
