I'm with you on front tubing looks fine yet could use couple more tube tie in's. Neat idea on inner "tool holders". Get's old trying to work on something needing to bend over and pick up tool that slid off.

I think I just thought of another sneaky way to tie the front clip in. Stay tuned for that. Progress is still slow here a sneak peak of my grill I'm doing using some stainless perforated.

Thank you. Got both fender pieces cut but only one welded in.

Got this battery box online for $20. Should be able to make it fit on the drivers side but for my second battery on the passengers side I'll have to make my own because it's a little tighter over there.

Picked up another project. Got the boat trailer for a good price. Axles are rated for 3000 lbs each. I'm going to convert it to a flat bed to haul the Samurai

I will be sure to post pics of the trailer build. It will be pulling the Sammy so it's related. Hoping to get started next weekend on it.

Like your bracket to use the stock hood latch. Looking good, like the grill--any plans to add some LED lights in it?

Passenger side battery box welded in. Drivers side battery box next, power steering reservoir mount, mount for the onboard , tie the fenders into the shock towers, then paint.

Put in some good hours today, the Samurai is drive able now so that's nice. Wasn't able to take it out though because its raining.

Passenger side battery box, quick angle iron build. Works fine

Ran a small piece of flat strap to support the other side

Mount for the winch controller burned in.

Power steering reservoir mounted.

Bottom view

Beefed up the fenders and shock towers by running a little piece of 1" tubing.

Welder mounted up on the passenger side

Engine bay is a tad cramped, also the wiring is a mess but that's a job for another day.

Next step is paint.

The rain stopped for a bit this morning so I took it out for a spin. Haven't driven it in over a month.

Flexing it in the front yard

Looking great!
How did it handle on road? Trail report compared to way it was to now? Thanks in advance.

My wife got me a nice little 12" light bar for the Sammy. While I know this isn't legal for the road, it will get me by in a pinch if I need to drive it at night.

Trimmed a tree in the front yard a while back and have been eyeing it for a flex picture ever since.

Finally getting started on the flatbed conversion. Cut off all the boat brackets.
