Introductions--start over-everyone

We have had a lot of new members and it's been a long time since some have posted about themselves so why don't we start this new thread and have everyone respond.

I am Benji, I live in Texas and split my growing up time here and Chicago, IL,
I started getting into Zuks after one spanked my fullsize Bronco on the trail. I owned a white 88 on Yota axles, 6.1 gears, and 36" TSL's and my current 87 Silver Zuk.

The best part of starting ZK was all the friends I have gained, with the site growing and the recent server issues and work I sometimes feel I haven't given all my ZK friends the time they deserve or my attention, for that I am sorry. Hopefully things will slow down and we can catch up.

I'm Justin, and I live in NW Indiana. I currently go to school at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. I have 2 sememsters left until I graduate with a BSMET. I've had 4 or 5 different Samurais, and I currently have 2 (my green one and a drivetrain-less '89 stashed in my barn). My first Samurai was my first car when I was 15, and I've been hooked ever since. Me and my dad got into Samurais because they were cheap, light, easy on gas, and EBs just started going way up in price. My dad has been 4 wheeling since he was a teenager, and he's the one that got me hooked on 4 wheeling. He's my hero!

I think I came to ZK way back when there was only a few members. The old site crashed a couple weeks after I joined I love the atmosphere here, and the builds have really inspired me to go out and learn something. I have gained a lot of valuable knowledge from this site. I'd still be wheeling my Samurai with those funky drop out leaf springs and 31s if I never wandered over here. Thank you!

I also love mountain biking, dirt bikes/ATVs, and pretty much anything outdoors. Oh, I also love long walks on the beach and ice-cream

Hi I'm Tim and I'm a Zukaholic (this is the part where everyone says Hi Tim)

I got into zooks around 2000 I was big into street racing and had a pretty decent civic and was working at a speed/Sterio shop. My brother gave me a 2WD 93 Tracker to drive so I could stay out of trouble I started wheeling it just for kicks vand was amazed with how well it did so I started looking for a sammy I found one that had been siting in a guys backyared for about 5 years He bought it new for his daughter to drive to school and she ran it low on oil and it had a rod knocking I swapped the engine from the tracker and put some 275's on it and wheeled the crap out of it. Sence then I have destoyed the tracker engine and swaped a 16V engine in also I did a 2" body lift and a 5" Calmini lift. with 33X12.50's of coarse I'm not done. are we ever?

my name is John and my samurai addiction started about 7 months ago. Bought it with a broken piston in #4 got another one tore it down checked all the bearings and completely resealed it. Had only 60k on it and now runs like a champ. Getting ready to go RUF and YJ rear just gathering up my parts and got to order my OTT steering. San diego is good to me although it is too damn expensive. Good desert wheeling not to far from here and I grew up in Yuma Arizona so the desert is my favorite place. I am a heavy equipment machanic and work on Caterpillar equipment.

I'm Eric I have owned my first samurai for a year but its spent more time in pieces it seems than together. Still gathering suspension but should be decent when it all comes together. I am a hot rodder by trait have a 49 lincoln I am building and a 73 BSA motorcycle I am working on (the reason the samurai is still in pieces). Some buddies got me into offroad but I didn't want something as massive as all their k5's (which I owned with SPOA alone) So ya full time student and work full time, so hard to get time for 3 projects. That's about it.

Yeppers, It's me... don't worry, if you don't know me... You will fast enough!!! I don't like people, but someday I will get over that.

I was zuki before zuki was cool... Somewhere in the 12 year range or so... I first got into them cause they were CHEAP, compared to my Dodge Ramcharger on 35s. I have had several Zuks over the years, but found out that this will be my last.... Next thing I build will be zuki powered, but will start life from tubing. Zukis are getting expensive and hard to come by.

Later Daze,
Shorty

my name is andy and I have been wheeling the sami for about 7 years now. it may not be completely the same one but some of the original parts are still there, the events and people are probalby the most fun part of the suzuki world, the rest of the off road world is the most fun when I get to keep up with the big fellers, all in all it is a great sport, and the wife and kid realy like it as well,
not realy ready to start posting about it yet, but the groundwork is being laid to redo the suspension and put a set of unimog axles under it, stretch the wheel base to around 95" and a set of 39.5 irocs
I am sure I will miss driving it on 31"s but I also am sure I will get over it
hope to meet you all on the trail,
if its an organized event and I am there, there is a good chance I will be manning the grill so stop by and bring me a beer. those things get hot in the summer time.
later

Hey! My name is Marc, from northern Ontario, Canada "I hate the cold". I`ve had my Zuk since last october, it`s been fun, cant wait for the snow to be gone so I can get it dirty. I`m fairly new to these other than having worked on them at work. I am a GM trained "ASEP" certified tech, I`ve worked on trackers and some zuki cars. I curently own a 99 sierra Z71, 03 blazer ZR2 and a 88 samurai. I obviously like 4x4`s!! Before owning my Zuk, my sonoma was my first offroad vehicle, nothing serious but still fun!

Hello all. I am JJ, Live in North Texas. Moved here from Conn. when I was 10. I work on heavy equipment for a living. Was with an equipment rental company for about 13 years and decided to open a full time equipment repair business of my own. I have been full time on my own since the first of January. It has been the most rewarding and scariest thing I have ever done.

I have been into Zukes for about 3 years or so since my family out grew the dune buggies and we needed a new family toy. Good friends with Benji(Tx-Zuki and Bobby(LA_ 1 Performance) Here.

162 Views and 17 "New Member" post....terrible people. Have to admit that 2 of those views were mine!

My name is Brady, 29, I am a petorleum landman for an oil company out of Wichita Falls, Texas. My wife, Jody, and my two daughters, Shaylee (6) and Malory (3 months) live in Matador, Texas pop. 742. We moved from Amarillo to Wichita Falls for work and then here about 8 months ago. The small town life is good for now.

I bought my first Zuk, DreamCrusher, about 5 months ago and have loved wheeling it and working on it. It is still mainly stock with a mild lift. The newest member of the family, Misty ('87 soft top) will be getting the royal treatment and live the rest of her days as a rock crawler! Can't wait!

I am the one you were afraid you would find on a site like this. I work in the oilpatch. But I don't control the price of gas. We really don't want to go there...................

I have had samis on and off since 1987 when I bought my first one shiney new off the show room floor in Phoenix. I live in the very SW corner of Kansas in a small town (Elkhart).

I am really quiet and bashful (since the little shower incident at the Krawl in Disney). So when I post something, you know it has to be loaded with useful information. When I answer a question in the Tech sections, don't second guess me, just do it, and let me know if...... I mean how well it worked. Who knows, I may to try it myself?

I have learned really good from these guys. They is some of da smartest peoples on earth!! Dey no thems stuph when it comed to !!

Have a nice day, and welcome to Wal-Mart!!

Hi, my names Mike and I have been into 4 wheeling since 87 when I bought my first Jeep. Since then I have had a couple chevy trucks, a couple S10's, a fullsize bronco, a chevy luv with a solid axle conversion and a 350. I got into zuki's a few years ago and had an 87 and now I have a 91 Samurai and an 89 ranger.

my name is Shawn. I have been into sami's for about 3 years now. I sold my body droped blazer to buy my first one, and now I am about to become the proud owner of sami #3. I am an electrician/mechanic, and work in the maintenence shop for Stemco. I am happily married and have 3 kidos with one more on the way. I also enjoy r/c crawlin, and woodsball. I have a 93 EG civic that runs 12's and because of the kids and all my hobbies I have no $.
I don't wheel as much as I would like but that will be changing soon. Well as soon as I get my sami rebuilt.

My name is Joe, I've been it to off roading for most of my life. A little over a year ago my wife and I decided to slow down a bit and sell her FL350 odyssey, my TRX250R and get a Yamaha rhino. After taking one for a test ride and just about rolling it we said hell no. I first looked in to a heep but we needed something that would fit in our toyhauler and a heep is just to heavy. Then I saw a Samurai, measured it checked the weight and it fit no problem. We looked for about three mounts and found a 1990 EFI with 68,000 miles on it, went and checked out and ended up towing it home. I've done a lot to since then, most of what I've done I learned on here through all the posts and great people.

Hello. I am James and I'm a zukivoyeur.

I encourage you to click on my sig line and vote for ZK.

I think I may be the oldest ZK member, but I can't remember for sure.

My first 4X was a '55 CJ5 - that was back in the day ~ '64. I've had Toyota's, Fords, Chevy's, and Nissan's... but I finally saw the light. I now have 3 Samurai's and gave my son an SJ410.

My wife and I are retired. We use our Zuk's primarily for trail riding and deer hunting so, while I really enjoy watching rad builds and riding in them, radical mods are not our thing. Simple spring-over suspension with a modest overhead GE electric drive .50 cal turret is more our speed.
