started to tear down and clean the cyliner head last night and came across a nick? crack? (missing metal)im sorry im not a motor head by any means, so bare with my virgin verbage... i wish my camera would get better detailed shots hope this does the trick. but anyways, its right at a sparke plug (innerds)(where the spark plug would be at the sparkin end)

the "hole" or "crack" doesnt seem to go to deep or into either of the areas around it. kinda looks as if its just right there... basically asking, should i continue to clean and waste my time or is this junk now?

From what I can see it doesnt get into the valve seat so what I would do is take a dremel tool and smooth it out so it doesn't get worse ie more of it break off and use it, course I am a cheapskate. If you have access to another one that you can pick up free or real cheap I would go that route, but you should be ok.

Some one else chime in and tell me i'm retarded now.

yeah its clear of the valve seat, right between the v.s. and the spark plug opening. i am alsl fiscally retentive. but i do have another to check out.... cant i swap out a tracker or any other cylinder head from another donar vehicle? anyone know?

geo metro head will swap. i dont know details on what else it takes but if dose fit. ide just smooth it out like mkyhmltn said to do and run it

looks to me although the pics a very blurry that the chunk is missing right at the valve seat which weould mean that valve isnt going to seal properly and to take a dremel to a valve seat with no head experience I would not do that at all. The head could be welded and machined but I would look into another head. Just my $.02
