My co-worker just informed me her husband manufactures high output custom alternators, and brackets.

I called him (his name is Dennis) and found out he does and has worked on our rigs and can handle most any request. He has a full machine shop on site.

I would like to know more about it. Does he alter our alternator to a high output one or does he make like the GM one wire type? What are his prices ect....?

Well since he is in town I gave him a call. A 175 alt is $454+ brackets :shocked!:

That's not too bad. I had a 205 amp ford one built several years ago for car audio competitions and paid 500 for it.
A word of caution about the big alternators, If the voltage regulator goes out it will melt wires and blow any bulbs that are turned on! I found this out the hard way.

You dont want to know what is 200+ amp ALT went for...
