I am planning on doing my headgasket this week, but I wanted to know what other gaskets ad what not I need. I went to Lordco and they don't ahve a full kit so I have to get everything individually. Im guessing I should od the timing belt at the same time too? what else should be done?
motor is 89 1.6l 8v

You should get the valve cover gasket $12-13 and intake & exaust gaskets because you will need to remove them. Look into getting new head bolts since they stretch when you tighten them. I didnt do it on mine and it is ok but everyone is different. You dont want intake seepage(bad power and fuel economy) or exaust seepage (loud and could burn a valve-loss of power) . The timing belt is easy to do even when the engine is installed. I would check the condition of the belt and if engine is under 120K and if everything looks good dont worry about changing it.
