and if I do a 2inch body lift will it help for space in the tranny tunnel??

the engine is a 1990 2.4 liter(ka24e) fuel injected and 5 speed tranny
I got the donor truck pretty cheap and a spare engine and tranny
700$(canadian) for the whole deal:jumping:

The trans is a little long, but that is a 3.0L V6 from a 90 pathy. the Ka24 should fit fine..just be prepared to move the rear axle back a bit...measure the length it's the biggest hurdle to overcome.

I think it is about the same as a Z24 but only has one plug per cylinder. The head is smaller.

I run a stock 160,000 mile factory tbi 1.3. With 5.29s and a 5.1 case i can run 70mph easily. I dont think you want to go any faster than that, or do you.

while we are on the topic of Nissan engines here. a buddy has a Nissan p/u 4x4. it has the 4cyl, carb'd with the 2 plugs per cyl. been trying to find some info on this engine. the truck is thrashed but it runs excellent and has a divorced case so he is thinking of using the power as a swap.
it runs like a top but what is the power output of these engines?

Z24 is what the engine is called. Pick up a mini truck mag and you may find some hot rod parts for it. I have this engine in a truck and love it found another but didn't get it yet cuz not sure about this swap either. You can buy headers, dual Weber kits and some other stuff for them. Very reliable engine the trucks usually rust apart before the engine quits.

yep!!
mines is a ka24(fuel injected)and got 345 k (kilometers) on the clock and still run strong!!!but the body and frame are trashed!!!

z24 output is aproximatly 100and so horses and litle bit more torque..not bad!!

ps: I will not put that engine in my sam...I fugured out I'll stick with suzuki power!!!

thanks:suzuki: :happy

Hey man, I need a little truck, but only after I find a home for my Sammy.
What trucks should I look for that have the z24? Thanks!

About any Nissan from mid 80s up these 4 bangers were better than the V-6 engines IMO. They used this engine I think till mid 90s. Look for 8 plugs in a 4 cylinder engine and u got it. I think they were a "hemi" head configuration pretty good design, good power and decent gas milage.
