View Full Version : flame thrower?

i finally got my zuk running good or so i thought. New plugs, wires, cap, rotor, filter, fuel filter, PCV valve, and i got a new timing belt and set it and it runs strong now, but after driving a while 5-10 minutes it will just die. when i try to start it raw fuel runs out the exhaust and enough misted fuel comes out the exhaust to be a flame thrower. sometimes it will start back up if i floor it and hold it, it seems to clean out. whats up?

Sounds like a stuck open float. see if u can get it to idle, take needlenose or something, while watching fuel window on front of carb pinch line, if fuel level comes down to were u can see it its stuck open... also make sure your carb isnt out of adjustment on the mixture screw. Mine was stuck open and I ran some sea foam thru carb and gas tank.. helped out, but a few months later she was done for.
