Tin Top Buggy
Jan 28, 2017 - 7:15 PM - by Mooretoyx4
Figured I'd post this over here as well. I'll need all the advice I can get once I start the links.

Here is the start of my tin top buggy. Progress will be a bit slow since I'm trying to take my time and do things right. This will be my first linked rig and I can't wait to try it out.

Specs:

3rz
W56
Toy/dana300
Custom fj60 front
Fj80 FF rear
14" ORI's
39.5 iroks

Brakes hlaf work
Jan 18, 2017 - 9:57 AM - by Quarterpastgone
Ok I have had my zu7k running for a while and know on the last trip when going down the mountain the brakes worked but could not lockup the front tires, this proved to be a issue on some steep declines. I have Toyota axles, firebird m/c, sky disk brake conversion with gm calipers and manual portioning
valve in the rear. rear tires will lock on demand but the front wont even lock on loose gravel. Any ideas would be great.

welding on pulley?
Jan 17, 2017 - 4:59 PM - by Bad Goat
I'm trying to mount a 4 hole pulley on a 5 hole crank sprocket. Would it cause any problems if I welded-in the holes in the crank pulley, sanded flat, and then redrilled? blance issues?

So trying to somewhat copy some work Nagtrainer has done to get a trigger wheel on my g13a for a megasquirt project.

Thanks!

Feb 14, 2017 - 11:31 AM - by ColoGuy
I live in the middle of plenty of cool "rollover country". At the doorstep to Blanca Peak which has a trail that has crushed many 4WD dreams....and quite a few drivers apparently. Plus dozens of BLM hills at my back door.

It is a great opportunity for a small, competent crawler such as a Samarai. I am looking at one right now.

The 1987 1.3 liter engine smokes for a few minutes after starting up. I figure it needs to be rebuilt pretty soon. I rebuilt a 383... [Read More]
